Venkat-Narayan are a music composer duo working in the Kannada film industry since 2003. Their debut film was Heart Beats.

Early life
Venkat and Narayan met at a music festival at Chennai. Their shared passion for music first made them friends, and later working partners. Venkat was a computer engineer and Narayan was a chemical engineer - both quit their professions to make music. Musically, Venkat is a guitarist and a keyboard player, Narayan is also a singer. He has studied western classical music at the Trinity College in London.
Career
Venkat-Narayan started out as film composers in the Vijay Raghavendra starrer Heart Beats. The music was quite popular. They then made music for movies like Ree Swalpa Bartheera and the Darshan, Rakshita starrer Kalasipalya. In 2004 they composed music for what is their most acclaimed album till date, Nalla starring Sudeep. Songs like Malage Malage Gubbi Mari and the front bench pleaser song Macha Dove Hodiyodu were extremely popular.
They have also composed music for movies like Green Signal, Udees, Thimma, Naga etc. In 2008 they have had 4 released film albums - Channa, Bidda, Murane Class Manja B Com Bhagya & Rocky. They will be working on Nagendra Urs's next Bobby and the Naveen Krishna starrer Nirdeshaka in 2009.
They have so far stuck to their convictions of not composing music for remakes.
