V Harikrishna is a noted Kannada music composer. He's debuted with Dinakar Toogudeep's directorial debut Jote Joteyali. He has since then composed for a number of top films, like Gaja, Gaalipata and Navagraha. Today, he is one of the top composers in Karnataka.

Early life
Harikrishna assisted the multi talented V Ravichandran in films like Aham Premasmi and Ekaangi before starting off on his own.
Career
Harikrishna started off as an independant composer with the Dinakar Toogudeep film Jote Joteyali in 2006. The film was a major commercial success, and so was Harikrishna's melodious music. Songs like Jote Joteyali and Siktaare Siktaare topped the charts for months. This film began a lasting association between Harikrishna and the Toogudeepas, he has scored the music for most of Darshan's movies released post Jote Joteyali.
In 2006, Harikrishna scored the music for three films, out of which two were Darshan starrers. Both Bhupati and Snehana Preetina did not do well at the box office, but Harikrishna's music was highly appreciated. He also scored music for the Ganesh starrer Krishna. The film was a remake, but the score was fresh. The songs including a peppy Satyabhama Baramma, were a hit, and so was the film.
2008 began on a high note for Harikrishna, he scored the music for the year's first two major hits - Gaja and Gaalipata. Gaja's Aitalakaadi was a crowd favorite even at the end of the year - and the music played a large role in the success of the film. The music of Gaalipata music was initially accused of having the Mungaaru Male hang-over, but post the movie's release the songs were vastly appreciated. He scored music for three more Darshan starrers in 2008 - Indra, Arjun & Navagraha. The music of both Indra and Arjun was more appreciated than the films themselves.
Navagraha was the second directorial venture of Dinakar Toogudeep, a thriller, and Harikrishna's music complemented the film perfectly. Harikrishna's music in Payana was also very appreciated. His last release of the year Paramesha Paanwala starring Shiv Rajkumar, did not match his previous efforts in the year. The film was a failure at the box office as well. In 2009, Harikrishna's music will be heard in Yogish's Ambaari for which he has also sung for the first time (and the last time as he maintains). He also has prime projects like the Shiv Rajkumar opus Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu, Soori's Junglee and Prem's next with Puneet Rajkumar - the highly anticipated Raj.
